Limited-edition covers have been created to honour Libratone’s new partnership with Copenhagen Zoo, which has welcomed two giant pandas.
Copenhagen is buzzing in black and white this week, as it welcomes two giant new additions to the city zoo. Two pandas - female Mao Sun, and male Xing Er, a gift from the Chinese government to the Danish Queen - HM Queen Margrethe II, are now safely in their new home at the Copenhagen Zoo, and we were pleased to have been asked to be part of their welcome.
As a Danish design brand that is also well established in China, we were considered a perfect brand fit, and partner, for the zoo on their new Panda exhibit. Our customisable smart speakers – the ZIPP 2, are to be used within the new panda exhibit as part of an agreement with the zoo.
The pandas are lucky enough to have had their new home designed by the acclaimed Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and his company, the Bjarke Ingels Group. The project goes above and beyond just the panda’s own enclosure. In addition to the area where the Pandas will be homed, the new exhibit also features a premium restaurant Panpan, where guests will be able to enjoy views of the panda enclosure, whilst listening to music provided by our ZIPP 2 speakers. As part of a revamp of the zoo to time with the Panda’s arrival, Libratone speakers will also be placed within two other restaurants - Botanika and Folk.
"Our PANDA covers have been specially designed to welcome the pandas here to Copenhagen Zoo."
To mark our partnership with Copenhagen Zoo, we have designed a collection of limited-edition ZIPP 2 PANDA covers with the artwork reflecting both our own bold approach to design, and the zoo’s latest exciting additions to the family. The limited-edition ZIPP 2 PANDA covers will be on-sale at our Copenhagen store in the coming months, with other retailers also in the pipeline – including the zoo’s own stores.
Our Vice President of Global Marketing, Alex Oberberg commented: “We were delighted to be asked to be involved in this project. We are looking forward to delivering rich sound to the panda enclosure, and who knows maybe the Pandas will enjoy the music too! Our PANDA covers have been specially designed to welcome the pandas here to Copenhagen Zoo.”
